My Approach
As an experienced licensed educator specializing in literacy, I integrate leading-edge programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, Handwriting Without Tears, Step Up to Writing, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and more to support neurodivergent learners, including those with dyslexia and dysgraphia. My focus is on developing essential literacy skills—reading, writing, and speaking—with a strong emphasis on:
- Student-centered lessons explicitly designed for each individual student's immediate learning needs.
- Multisensory Structured Literacy approaches focusing on decoding language skills and sensory cognitive approaches to improve literacy skills.
- Direct guided instruction on organizational skills to enhance both oral and written language.
